So often we hear that we must eat “more fruit and vegetables” if we want to live a longer, healthier life. One of the biggest issues with the average American diet, is that the excess of dairy products and red meat that we eat is associated with many life-threatening conditions such as diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, are full of healthy antioxidants and fibers, that also help us stave off obesity, especially for the less physically-active types. Eating better helps us live better and longer… and save a lot of money as well.

Switching our diet from burgers to cabbage, however, doesn’t seem a very… attractive choice, regardless of the apparent health benefits. Although some of these “bad” foods usually tend to be tastier than some raw lettuce, that’s not always the case.
